It has a manga adaptation by Junji Ito, it's much better. It's quite fascinating how the novel author committed suicide after writing this. Makes the story feel more realistic.

watched some of Yani Neko and its just spamming pop culture references which is fine but theres just no substance really and I usually love Slice of life anime.
