So basically i decided to switch upto. 5x5 for flat dumbbell bench press. I was doing 20kg i did 20kg 5x5 fine then moved onto 22.5kg. First day i was able to do 1st set with 5reps and 2nd set with 3reps. But next week is where things took turns. My left arm wasnt able to do more than 3 reps but right arm was able to do 5. So i lowered my sets and increased reps moved to 3x6. But the problem still remained. Now i have decided to do tomorrow 3x8 with 20kgs. Lets say if i am able to pull it off should i move to 22.5kg or should i go till 12 reps.
>>1078 Because i think i will be able tonl do that. I did 1x8 and 2x6 with 20kg in inclined db press on friday.
>>1079 Stop doing 5x5 in general and that too on a fucking DB press. It is a very unstable movement and you shouldn’t be doing more than 2-3 sets on that. 6-10 rep range with a lighter weight, controlled with full ROM. The truth is after 30-35 kg it is tuff to go up the weight on db pressing. Better to do lighter weight at higher reps.
>>1080 My question is should i go in 20kg with 12 reps? Then jump to 22.5kg?
