Persian Edition. All the anons who are learning any language are welcome to share their experiences and resources to help out other anons who are interested. Picrel is the roadmap I'm following for Persian. I'm still in the first book phase i.e. An Introduction to Persian by Thackston. It's a pretty good book, straight to the point, bite sized small lessons which micro dose vocabulary instead of dumping it all on you when you start learning an element of grammar. You'll actually use the vocab introduced in the lesson within the exercises for each lesson such that you'll remember what that word means without any active memorization. It has 25 lessons, I'm in 8th. After every 5 lessons there's a review exercise covering topics from the past 5 lessons, thus 5 review exercises in total. It has a section on classical and colloquial styles, colloquial transformations and a very useful appendix with all the necessary vocab. I didn't start an anki deck to maintain my vocab yet, maybe I'll start by the end of this week. Anki comes in handy when you go through all the books on your branch and are ready for real world input, as you'll come across a lotta new words in the wild - anki will help in capturing them. I'm personally following the colloquial path as I don't see much point in being able to cite classical poetry while being illiterate within modern speakers. The gap isn't as big as in other languages but it's confusing enough for a beginner. Even natives find classical works difficult without any glossary or a tutor. I'll just go with this path and live in the present for an year or two then dig into the past. Btw I made the roadmap myself with my research, it might/might not work for you, so look around for what you might like. I'm kinda writing to myself for accountability here, who am I kidding, I'm not finding people interested in learning languages here kek. I'd be happy though if I find some. It's a long long journey, will last years and take much longer than expected as I'm just spending half an hour or one on this pursuit. But staying consistent does yield progress, It's a pretty good pastime which builds discipline and consistency - part of a reason why I'm doing this even if it might feel impractical.
