Been using Debian since I found about Linux. I don't need putter that much but recently I heard Debian is getting globohomo. They picked systemd and now age verification.
What's the most liberating os at this hour? Was thinking of freebsd but I need proper answers
>>27
>devuan>alpine>gentoo
i have tried not these but majority of popular OS
fedora and debian ftw for me
also using an outdated OS is just a crack in the system to vulnerabilities
will choose alpine in the future if anything happens
>devuan
that just blocks few debian scripts
>aplhine
Assuming its arch. Dont want to keep troubleshooting config files
>gentoo
Yeh nah
Whats your argument against freebsd
>>29
no argument
seems based as how it is used by many big corpos and how it is a complete different kernel and not a distro of linux
+
there are diff types of bsd, openbsd, freebsd, etc
freebsd is good for servers, while openbsd is more security focused and standardized
see the picrel

Anti-systemd ones like Arch and Devuan.
They're a lot easier to harden because there are few to no daemons with net ports open.
I disable cups (printer crap) and the time server thing (I just made my own Cron job that updates time without an open port.)
Been using cachy os, good one, throws errors while doing syu, but overall good one, had used endeavour os its also good, i am thinking of switching to nix
