I wanted a foss android gallery app which can access hidden folders (those whose filename starts with '.') nested within directories, can play all types of file formats for gif, photos, videos etc. and a booru like tagging system for our media files such that you can have multiple tags for a given media file and you can search by tags, filter by them, use em like folders. It's pretty great for organizing different stuff like memes ifykwim instead of rigid autistic folders. Aves libre can't even access the entire filesystem, can't tag webms for some reason. Because it tags the file's metadata directly instead of maintaining a separate tagging database like a real fucking human would need. Fossify gallery is almost perfect. Can browse hidden folders in deep nested directory structures but can't play few videos of higher bitrate or resolution. It doesn't have tagging capability, you can just 'favourite' stuff which is useless. I can't even find a non foss app which can do this. There's a vacuum in the market for this kind of app, any wagie codecel can try making an app like this as a fun project. Or if you do know such an app please tell. I don't have my own personal computer which only I can use and I have no fucking privacy when on it, otherwise I'd have just used hydrus network on my machine.
Wow, high depth intelligent thread.
