Anyone interested in having a conversation about PhD programs?
Some anon asked me to make a 'high IQ thread' so I figured let me make a thread about my current academic pathway.
I did my postgrad in Cognitive Neuroscience and am currently prepping for Cog Science/Neuroscience PhD programs.
Only a few IITs have this in their curriculum, so opportunities are basically concentrated in the west.
>cognitive science
kek some female prof at IIT Kanpur, accused her husband who is also a Prof in CSE department of having sex with his PhD student, happened few days ago

Fascinating. It was either math or neuroscience for me, those were what i was drawn to. I picked math. doing bsc hons rn, planning to get masters abroad. What all did you do to get postgrad abroad?

Noice. Make sure you specialise in something specific within the field of Math while picking a postgrad course. Even better if the course offers practical skills. You don't need much usually other than 💰 for an MSc, gora universities are money hungry bastards for international students.

>Bhai if you are abroad then stay there, why move back to this shithole?
Most pajeets who graduated with me are unemployed or doing a shitty minimum wage job and will likely return after their Graduate Visa ends. I avoided that fate by concentrating on PhD.

Any tips to keep brain sharp. Diet, lifestyle, or things to do during puberty for good cognition

Mine was slightly less than 9.0. Again, getting a postgrad offer abroad is easier than ever, any dumbass with rich parents and a 6.5 IELTS score can get an offer. Concentrate on course and uni selection, that's all I have to sat. Don't be an NPC and do a Mickey Mouse course like 'international business marketing management' or something lol.

Somewhere in the UK.

They actually don't teach that in this field lol. But I can give you some pointers based on my own experience which also has research backing for improving mental wellbeing: 1) Exercise regularly. 2) Engage in reading books 3) Avoid eating slop, prioritise vegetable and fruit intake. 4) Read more books, listen to audiobooks. 5) Meditate daily even if it is for 10-15mins. 6) Avoid toxic places like this.

Ideally outside. Play video games or watch YouTube. Use Reddit if you want just for informational purposes, don't engage much.

I am not aware much about engineering but you should do a PhD only if you truly love research.
