I was born in 2001 so got to live the quintessential y2k life, little from lingering 90s and emerging 2000s prosperity and hopefuel
I remember everything was full of life right before the age of ms soycial media people would actually interact with you, almost everybody was on good terms and didn't hold grudges for too long if even something happened
there was a sense of optimism, people actually cared and there was this sense of community
everything after 2018 has been a far cry from what I grew up in, the paradigm shift has been absolutely br0atul
for me the world ended in late 2019
