you can t do it
they put in thin cables its probably an old building
i know this issue because im facing the same one here in Switz.
i would be more worried about other people starting fires as well lol since the whole hostel probably uses wires that are too thin for 2026 loads
and if you got sparks and fire that means there are no breakers

Will do

>Woh kya hota hai T_T
You can find spike guards with thicker wire (usually more than 6 amps) on them. They're usually made for running high power electronics. Thin wire can't handle that much load and gets burnt due to high heat

write a complaint to the hostel
theres a 100% chance somebody bridged a breaker
and theres a 100% chance somebody will start a fire by plugging in a device and falling asleep sooner or later

I'll try a different power outlet then tmrw...
I don't really mind the room catching on fire as long as I also catch fire
If I don't college will ask me to pay for the damages...

their sockets catching fire is not your fault lol
its theirs
they need to upgrade the wiring and most importantly they need to ensure that the breakers are working so that no current can be drawn that leads to fires
Abey chutiye pajeet hai saale, no one pointed this out
This happens when the building is not grounded. You need grounding for something like this and electric coil water heater. The third pin in it's plug is for that reason
