In real life, elders in rural WestUP don't really want to associate too much with Haryana infact some of them look down upon the region as they perceive it to be less fertile. I've also heard that WestUP jats don't marry their daughters to the Jats of Haryana।
But online and in other states some WestUP folks are not fond of being perceived as UP wale since the term is usually associated with Purvanchal/Bihar that they desperately try to cling onto haryana to get rid of the UP label
