Height isn’t a steppe trait solely, you can look at IVC excavations (0 steppe, only Iran_N and AASI) which averaged extremely tall for the time, and even before that 100% AASI skeletons were excavated in eg Sarai Nahar Rai, that were ridiculously tall, and would be tall even compared to modern populations worldwide. Indian hieght stunting is due to diet and culture, not genetics.
