In many Muslim communities (especially in South Asia), the Six Kalimas are taught as a way to learn core declarations of faith and remembrance. They are traditional compilations, not a single list found together in the Quran or authentic Hadith.
1. First Kalima (Tayyibah)
Transliteration:
> Lā ilāha illallāhu Muḥammadur Rasūlullāh.
Meaning:
> There is no god except Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
---
2. Second Kalima (Shahadah)
Transliteration:
> Ashhadu an lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan ʿabduhu wa rasūluh.
Meaning:
> I bear witness that there is no god except Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
---
3. Third Kalima (Tamjeed)
Transliteration:
> Subḥānallāhi wal-ḥamdu lillāhi wa lā ilāha illallāhu wallāhu akbar. Wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāhil-ʿAliyyil-ʿAẓīm.
Meaning:
> Glory be to Allah, all praise is for Allah, there is no god except Allah, Allah is the Greatest. There is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
---
4. Fourth Kalima (Tawheed)
Transliteration:
> Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamd, yuḥyī wa yumīt, wa huwa ḥayyun lā yamūt, abadan abada, dhul-jalāli wal-ikrām, biyadihil-khayr, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shay'in qadīr.
Meaning:
> There is no god except Allah alone, without partner. His is the kingdom and all praise. He gives life and causes death. He is Ever-Living and never dies. He is the Lord of Majesty and Honor. In His hand is all good, and He has power over everything.
---
5. Fifth Kalima (Istighfar)
Meaning:
> I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, for every sin I committed knowingly or unknowingly, secretly or openly. I turn to Him in repentance for the sins I know and those I do not know. Indeed, You are the Knower of the unseen, the Concealer of faults, and the Forgiver of sins. There is no power nor strength except through Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.
---
6. Sixth Kalima (Radd-e-Kufr)
Meaning:
> O Allah, I seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I do unknowingly. I repent to You and renounce disbelief, associating partners with You, lying, backbiting, innovation in religion, tale-bearing, indecency, slander, and all sins. I submit to You and declare: There is no god except Allah; Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
