if you dont believe me go look up any random gold medalist
in 99% of the cases they
1. were abused as a child (precondition in 2026 to compete in the olympics)
2. were subject to performance enhancing drugs (which cause a crash later on and health issues) - this is the case even if people aren't projected to win btw, its basically the baseline
3. massive health issues , 99% of all olympic contestants have massive issues with their bodies (and brains) once they leave the sport
4. none of them is capable of pursuing a normal career with a regular income
5. their only income usually comes from either a spouse (rare) and most of the time because they work as coaches (thus perpetuating the eternal cycle of abuse in the olympics)
participating in the olympics is actually really stupid , in almost every way , there is nothing to gain, very much to lose
