This is a mega-general thread for lit, fit and x (and also just general discussion), all discussions are allowed except randi rona, blackpilling and politics and caste discussion. Mod sahab, don't move this one anywhere, boards beyond /b/ are so dead, and no one engages in them, but general threads do get a lot of engagement

Not under any means to suggest you are required to be /fit oriented in this thread, but currently I'll post some fit related things. I've been working out hard, probably the most focused I've tried in my life. I've been to the gym a fair amount, done heavy lifting and my frame supports a certain kind of lifting. I'd been wanting to get into the gym, and I started 4 months back, after a somewhat easy hiatus of just running or pushups, It was nice at first but I got bored of lifting weights, I have no big fiizeek goals because after not being a teenager you kinda learn whats realistic and whats not, and I'm perfectly happy with my current musculature. What I realized tho was that something was missing from my life, some spirit of competitiveness, something, fun and fresh. And it suddenly hit me, Id been wanting to try rowing for a long while, so why not now?
>>40747 Ban this guy spamming rhis crap

Reading picrel rn. I do not believe in most of the crap written in there, but the author sure has an imaginative mind and it is an entertaining read.

>>40754 But the slow boards are so damn slow that no one comes >>40749 >>40749 Today, I had a real breakthrough. I'll be honest, I stayed up all night talking, and I realized Ill be late for my morning workout, and I got a text from the gym too that the usual route is blocked, and early morning gym is closed, opening late. So I decided, we'll row in the evening, and today dear lord, I tried to properly dig my feet in and holy shit

>>40759 Nice, Ive heard about this one, the cover is william blakes painting. >>40764 I felt such an explosive power from my legs that I was feeling awkward for how much I was moving at the machine, it's like I was digging my fucking heels in, almost trying to move the Row Erg back, and Im pretty sure it did scoot a teeny bit, I'll secure it properly but today was really good, I realized what form mistake I had been making, and that I was stupid enough to not utilize my legs at all for the row erg. The goal now is to keep training, keep pushing, keep developing the aerobic base and lower body power. Im feeling very excited, I'll positively sleep early tonight however, it feels like shit to stay up late

>>40775 >>40780 kys, picrel for you >>40778 do not seethe at street shitters poopjeet, make fun and move on >>40776 >william blakes painting. who dis nigga?
>>40785 Mystic artist, the painting on the cover is done by William Blake, not chosen without relation to the books topic, look him up
>>40759 >>40785 Tell us about the book anon, what do you think about it? why are you reading it
>>40786 >look him up Willian Blake seems to be an interesting character as per the first 2 paragraphs of his wikipedia page >>40787 the book deals with a lot of topics, the major being that, there are two views of history, one which sees history as an accident, and another that sees history as a conspiracy. this dude seems to believe that the history has been a conspiracy and not an accident. he then goes on to show how a lot of people and a lot of organizations and a lot of events (WW1, WW2, great depression, french revolution, russian revolution, etc etc) were interconnected to a central conspiracy. take it all with a bunch of salt of course, I mean this shit is way out there. but it is entertaining, this level of imagination.
>>40799 Sounds interesting, how far along are you in the book

Is this considered political?? Manu joseph has extraordinary way to show the readers how a society is. Sometimes u think he is messiah of the poor by being their voice and other times he shows why rich people do what they do. Behind all that I feel like he is just a observer he was only there to observe, he has no reason to provide a helping hand nor to oppress a poor. He was and is just a observer. Too deep for this chappal forum??
>>40814 tell me more, idk this book at all
/gen/>/fit/>/x/
>>40816 Thank you for sharing your opinion, but even /gen/ is dead
>>40810 around 25%
>>40819 what do you do in your life? if you dont mind me asking, what are you like as a person, in the sense of course, what you read and think and write and how that affects your life, or just whatever overall
>>40817 Not about activity but about content, jk all are mid
>>40815 The author is actually a fiction writer. This is his first non fiction book. I don't know how u feel about books but once i read a book i don't think i deserve to read it again. Not in a bad way. Just if I read the magic will be gone. But this book made me want to again read his books. Making me want to read serious men again.

>>40824 I agree, reading a book again doesnt seem to serve me all that well, hardly ever. >>40827 Dont worry, no need to share info if ur not comfortable, I was just curious what kind of a person reads this sort of a book, not in a derogatory way at all.
>>40829 give a textual description of the person that comes to your head when you imagine someone reading this book
