There's a theory, I forgot what it's called but it basically stated, that 1% of internet users actually contribute, 9% of internet users discuss the contributed stuff, and 90% just lurk. Over here, I haven't really made that many threads, and I just discuss stuff on pre-existing threads. Because the 1% isn't really here or rather in a diminished capacity, no real interesting topics are discussed and what happens is the general bullshit is regurgitated and swallowed back up again. I think this site needs good "starters" i.e OPs who can make good threads that encourage other anons to comment and discuss interesting stuff.

I'd like to update the theory; For imageboards there exists another archetype, the "anti-contributor". These individuals are either paid shills, or trolls who constantly discuss the same topics; ones which are known to bait anons into discussing it for the thousandth time, thus clogging the board and preventing any real discussion. The imageboard as a medium is the most vulnerable to such actors due to the fact that they don't have a username so it's much harder to single them out. You can clearly see this on 4chans /pol/ with slide threads of the same "TKD, TPD and TMD" preventing any real discussion about stuff.
