All those stories about agni pariksha and curse on ravana that prevented him from violating any woman were likely face saving embellishments. I think she was likely raped. Even genghis khan rescued his wife from her abductors but could not prevent her rape.

Many believe og lanka wasnt the same as present day sri lanka. Og lanka was likely in odisha in sonepur along mahanadi river. Crocodiles arent found in sea but mahanadi and sea to lanka is said to have crocs in valmiki ramayana. Sal tree also doesnt grow in south but in jharkhand ans odisha and lanka was said to have sal trees.
