The JP Morgan Pre-placement talk made me feel very bad. Every single day I am wasting time reading these AI layoffs bullshit that never happens meanwhile I see hundreds of students eagerly listening to some corporate slut talk about a whole lot of air that explains nothing.
Yesterday, I had to go with my dad to a place to pay some bills because he is partially deaf and I have to damage control and make things less miserable for him and that place had maybe 20 women working in there, basically running a call center cum payment service and not a single man in sight inside there. They all had jobs.
The only people that benefit from all these doomscrolling and apocalypse porn that you see in the news every day is the news outlets themselves.
Just know that half the world is at war supposedly at this point yet people out there are still earning paycheck, dating, getting pregnant, getting married, buying properties, and doing all kinds of things. You may think that the world is about to end just because Russia has been invading Ukraine for 6 years at this point now and people are there starving and eating weeds for their hunger, or Iranian schoolgirls are getting bombed by Trump and we need to power Democratic Spirit bomb or something to defeat the great evil and finally our lives will get better but you might as well keep waiting for the two weeks that will never come.
Meanwhile, there are people out there who are actually living their life oblivious to any of these things and they have lived a better life than you all here. That shining moment where things will magically resolve and you will finally start living is not going to come. That moment is already here but you're doing nothing about it.
