Technical education at IITs is nothing special, they have too little funding to do anything cutting edge, IITs are like settlement plans to indian academics who did PhDs and research work abroad but came back to India for whatever reason.
MIT, UC Berkley, Caltech etc have 15-30x the budget of all 23 IITs combined, and far far superior Industry academia collaboration.
In US researchers are hired by corporations for extremely prestigious positions, many of them later take teaching positions at top Colleges there, in India someone with a MS or PhD is looked down upon, largely cause research here is a joke.

I mean yeah you can say that, but the fact is SpaceX has cutting edge IP nobody else in this world has, and initially SpaceX had support from US government too but now it has become a massive company.
I doubt of you know that but SpaceX has now surpassed every country (including US) when it comes to launches. They have put more stuff in space than everyone anyone else combined - NASA, Roscosmos, ISRO etc etc
basically if you want to work on cutting edge stuff, you must go to US, that is the only place where things happen, China is the only other option but is inferior anx mostly closed to foreigners.
