In india you have taj hotel. A decent display of indian culture but very old and nothig new about it. It has been stuck in 1950s. Why? Because it mostly earns from goras. Goras dont want cognitive dissociation so they only pay for stuff that is "indian" according to them. So our business cater to them in that way.
Our elites have no interest in 1950s backward culture or to invent something new.
The how did japan do it? Because it became a rich country early. Its elites were xenophobic. They spent loads of money on making their chilhoood life things into fier artistic stuff. Also there was no social media and globalization to sway their minds.
