The upvote system lets you see the best content first and filters out the rest.
Plus Reddit lets you sort comments by popularity, that way I'm always guaranteed to see nothing but the best content, as chosen by the community.

A post with gazillion like can have like 3 replies in total cause they're just not much to add from ur side
Yeah these posts are likeable cause they provide u smthn u like or weren't aware but these are not the things you would wanna engage in. These just more of serve the information
