Why should I pray to Ram? I can understand why people are devotees of Krishna as he himself calls him The Supreme and shows Arjun his virat roop and all other things he did.
But i fail to understand that why should I pray to god as the only thing he did was to bring her kidnapped wife back and was good to his people
Was Rambhakti always this strong and widespread or this changed after Doordarshan Ramayana show and whole 1990's Babari Masjid saga. Although so many old villages and towns all over India being named after Him suggest something else

Its just devote wann worship lord in mood so he appears in different forms

Abe heendu he is the titular god who became man. Ram lived breathed and walked amongst us as a mortal that's why we idolise him so much. There is not a SINGLE region/language of india that does not have a version of Ramayana in its own language

I don't see much Ram bhakti here in South, I see more Krishna worship here. Ram is respected and worshipped but not as much as Krishna or Shiva.
