I genuinely don't understand the obsession with Purani Dilli. Every time someone talks about Delhi's culture, it's always the same shit about Chandni Chowk, Mughal history, street food and the ✨vibrant atmosphere✨. Have you people ever considered that a city can have historical buildings and still be an absolute pain in the ass to exist in?
I've been to Delhi and enjoyed CP, but just casually walking around most of the city feels like a fucking chore. Traffic, pollution, overcrowded streets, barely any comfortable pedestrian space. You can't even properly switch your brain off and enjoy a walk without constantly being on alert.
Meanwhile, I've spent time in Lalitpur, Nepal, and places like Jawalakhel, Sanepa, Lagankhel, Bagdol and Krishna Mandir are genuinely more enjoyable to walk around. Pleasant weather, cleaner surroundings, people who are generally pleasant, and streets where you can actually relax. I can literally sit on a sidewalk near my house and not feel disgusting afterwards.
And before someone pulls the "Delhi has thousands of years of history" card, have you actually looked into Patan's history? The Newar civilisation, traditional courtyards, temples, craftsmanship and architecture are extraordinary. Krishna Mandir and Patan Durbar Square alone are reminders of a sophisticated urban culture with roots stretching back centuries. This isn't some random Himalayan village with a few pretty buildings.
Honestly, the Newar cultural heritage of Lalitpur feels richer and more alive to me than the historical romanticism people project onto Old Delhi. Yet somehow Delhi gets treated as the pinnacle of Indian civilisation while people barely know anything about the historic cities sitting just across the border.
Is Delhi-6 romanticism just childhood nostalgia and capital-city chauvinism? Or do people genuinely enjoy navigating all that shit on a daily basis? Because I'd take a random evening stroll through Jawalakhel over wandering around Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon any day of the week.

Food? How honestly, you haven't even tried proper food like sukuti, bhutan, kachila bara, yomari, choila or sekuwa
Also the foods I mentioned are protein rich instead of motapa rich like delhi gives

Include the over punctuation and the rule of 3 and answering questions before asked and using mildly related word to make it something it's not about.

All good. And to answer the question, I don't think anyone romanticises delhi. Everyone from delhi who I meet in bhangilore talks about how much of a polluted rapey shithole it is.

Gave me vomiting, food poisoning and skinny fat

Other than food, nobody recommends dilli. Its universally considered a shithole unless you live in gated communities or have bungalows over there
