An NSG operator, finally equipped with good kit.
>>234566 jk,that's a Kurdish Peshmerga operator, The kurds don't even have a country.
>>234567 check'd
>>234566 Our NSG meanwhile are equipped with 90's era tactical kit (which we got in 2017-18, before that it was 1960's era kit)
>>234566 NSG is a lot better equipped than this.
>>234567 technically not true, kurdish peshmarga are part of Iraqi security. Iraqi govt funds them. Still better than India despite have a lesser defense budget.
>>234567 >>234594 we are not a serious country
>>234601 we're serious about this thing and the NSG gear is a lot better for the kind of ops they're supposed to deal with. don't listen to these morons.
>>234603 Can you explain
>>234574 Means our kit is 30 years old
>>234605 yeah, sure. NSG has a different mandate compared to regular special forces operators. the force itself is designed for operations related to CQB (closed-quarters battles), surgical intervention, tubular assault (aircrafts, trains, buses) and VIP protection situations. this blows the comparison out of the water from the get-go. you're comparing apples to oranges. but regardless, the NSG gear is still a lot, lot better than the crap the peshmerga operators use. and it's not just about the quality and the technical strength of the gears either, the procurement practices are a LOT better in the NSG compared to their peshmerga counterparts. the NSG is comfortably a tier-1 force.
>>234611 >procurement practices are a LOT better Wdym by this?
>>234609 Also is this true
>>234613 the uniformity of procurement of military gear is the NSG is EXTREMELY HIGH. every procurement, every gear is standardized and uniform per team. peshmerga procurements are kind of piss-fart. their supply-chains are decentralized, they haven't had enough money to procure and train again for a long time (the iraqi forces cut back their financing massively), and they rely heavily on battlefield captures and foreign aid packages to arm themselves for operations. >>234614 # no. it ain't. BUT YK, if the NSG wants better gear then i'd say let 'em have it. they should be able to maintain their edge. i just hope that whatever they procure, its manufacturing is eventually domesticated (which isn't entirely the case right now).
