Growing up in the late 2010s, it always seemed to me that the e-sports scene in india will grow immensely. However, it all ended with a wet-fart and a swing. Jeets never evolved from "patt se headshot" biharigiri and this scene too, like most other scenes in india, came to a screeching end. What are the reasons for the esports thing never taking off big over here? It could've been massive for india's image as most of our people are just couch-warming goons.

>>227086 They are normies and mobile gamers
The people atracted to eSports because of the money and they have no passion there were multiple instances even in the PUBG where a entitled brat played instead of actually passionate team. Unless we remove the financial incentives to be the primary reason we can't see a vibrant eSports industry at least until it holds a decent cashflow to them. Second thing we need to have is compute since india is a computepooe nation our majority of people play in mobile phones which won't inherently be bad look at SEA tournaments. But the lack of titles and inherent disinterest companies behind the games is also a reason. Which i think is reasonable to assume is because china owns majority of games india plays. But that is beyond the scope of this discussion. These are just broad and surface reasons. And there are many more but the lack of attention span of inchels is why I'm stopping here.
