Heer and Ranjhana were both muslims. They both were lovers but Heer's marriage was arranged with someone else. After this Ranjhana ran away and while wandering met a sadhu. After spending sometime with him he became a shaivite monk While he was a monk he would travel from villages to villages and door to door to ask for food. During this time he accidentally met Heer. they rekindled and married but there isn't any mention of him converting back to Islam If the whole saga itself is a true story or a just a folk is still unknown

>>226590 Could be There is one such love folk story in us, Sindhis, as well. Again both the lovers are muslim. Another muslim guy who's a king abducts this lady and seperates both the lovers. Later through his mother he gets to know that this lady has drunk his mother's milk as well so as per the Quran's law they both can't marry eachother so he lets her free I don't know if this is how original the folk story was but this is the screenplay of the movie in picrel based on this same folk story.
