This is fundamentally wrong, anybody can worshiper deities, in whatever current condition they are, its recommended to not eat meat, but by worship God daily your desire for eating meat will eventually cleansed. And you can easily elevate on path of bhakti.
If we think like i will only read holy scriptures, only when i stop eating meat or drink , then you will never begin to start reading those. Which is more beneficial at end of day
