i pose you 5 possible ways forward -
1) appropriate the word pajeet like the black community did for "nigger". using it in non racist connotations over time reducing its shock factor and delude its meaning to represent kinship btwn indians

2) do active activism against use of it and condemn the use of it anywhere online. expect among a few white liberals this would only make the rest of people get more fun from it as indians get pissed over use of it
3) decide a community substitute for the word that doesn't have racist origins. like instead of pajeet or Indian use word "Bharti" or smthn to refer to Indians online. use it so excessively that foreigners know "Bharti" is one more way to refer to indians. they can obv use it with racist intent too but atleast in hearing the word ourselves it wouldn't sound racist.
so you can receive it in a ill intent and still be ok with it
4) i don't know if this ones anything but cope but we can continue doing the brown south Asian thinking he's not pajeet but some other group is
southie saying northies are pajeet
northie saying southie are pajeet
Pakistani saying indians are poojeet
or of all indians only lundjabis are poojeet as word originated from them
like u can delude yourself that when the word is used its not for you and your community but for others
wont change much dynamics outside in India but alteast u can delude urself and be happy
5) be unbothered and don't take action over it as a community. only downside is more than ever, even more than blacks u be butt of the joke on internet and NRIs would face more racism
its would be harder than ever for indians to get into global catered content creation n all + million other downsides

Just don’t make it a deal at all or make it a massive deal. No white guy is going to call an Arab a sandnigger to his face or a black a nigger because they will murder them on the spot. East Asians don’t get much hate because they don’t make such a big deal about chinky-eyes jokes and even laugh it off themselves, similarly Mexicans can take a joke.
