I Love the Idea of learn the Sanskrit but it's convenient to read book in either hindi or english.
Also i don't find anything wrong with translation as every Sanskrit words meaning as given. Well the purpote is more emphasis towards bhakti yoga.
I get the gita peas once at home as well . purpote is not present in that . just word by word translation.

Gospels and other christian liturgy expands upon the Hebrew Bible and claims that Jesus is the third temple or the son of God/messiah for the Hebrews.
Quran is just the retelling of the judeo christian abrahamic lore in arabic in a summarised way but they disregard the holy trinity and treat jesus as just another prophet. And it the other part of it is mostly stuff about le infidels, arab customs and how muhammad is the best and last prophet ever.
