you can also use windows sandbox to test things before running it on your main machine.
if you can, don't be logged into sensitive accounts on the pc on which you're pirating software and games. don't have a password manager installed on that machine (this one is a bit unrealistic, i admit).
always have backups so that you never have to back up from an infected pc. though it's not that big of a problem.
if defender ever detects and removes some malware, it might already be too late. rotate all of your passwords and 2fas from another device. and reinstall windows (not repair or anything, full clean install)

This. Keep a spare device for all the dirty stuff, preferably something simple like linux mint. It should have no personally identifiable information, logged in accounts and everything which can trace back to you. My spare laptop is just for pirating movies, music, anime and porn.
