This comments section shows whites are regressing as a people
They're scared of new technologies. They're scared of being exposed to the controversial ideas. They despise the very people that build their economy at scale.
They're scared of all this and want their societies to interfere and curb these 'unpleasant' stuff from their lives, be it censoring social media, restricting AI, suppressing controversial ideas and even punish the people building these technologies
This all reminds me of the Qing China, a society that was wealthiest for its time, afraid of looking outwards because of the outside world is scary and they don't understand it. Western liberal theology have metastasized in to a religion itself, they want to believe they're all liberal secularists but they've just become ardent fundamentalists of a new kind of religion. They're conservatives wearing a different skin, deeply attached to a set of moral assumptions about what people should be allowed to believe and expose themselves to. What's ironic is that it was social media itself that allowed the spread and adoption of lot of their ideas and why many of them believe what they believe as fundamental truths about life. The 2000s pre social media social scene wasn't exactly friendly to a liberal, as seen from many movies from that era. That's the ultimate irony here, those who benefited from an unprecedented ability to encounter unfamiliar ideas now want to put the walls back up once they discover that openness doesn't only expose other people to their ideas but exposes them to ideas they dislike too.
