Yep. You can make a properly chocolatey ~150 kcal mug without blowing the calorie budget.
🍫 High-protein-ish hot chocolate — ~150 kcal
Ingredients
* 250 ml unsweetened soy milk — ~80–100 kcal
* 10 g unsweetened cocoa powder (about 1½ tbsp) — ~23 kcal
* 10 g sugar (2½ tsp) — ~40 kcal
* Pinch of salt
* Optional: tiny splash of vanilla extract or pinch of cinnamon
Total: ~145–165 kcal depending on your soy milk.
Method
1. Mix the cocoa + sugar + 2 tbsp soy milk in a saucepan until you have a smooth paste.
2. Add the remaining soy milk gradually while whisking.
3. Heat on medium-low until very hot but not boiling.
4. Add the salt and vanilla/cinnamon if using.
5. Whisk vigorously for 15–20 seconds at the end to get a little foam.
If you want it more dessert-like
Use 15 g cocoa + 10–15 g sugar + 250 ml soy milk. It’ll still generally come in under 200 kcal, but it’ll taste much more intensely chocolatey.
And since you’re cutting, I’d go with the 10 g cocoa + 10 g sugar version. Cocoa gives you a surprising amount of chocolate flavour for very few calories.
