A general thread, for general thoughts. >No Castekanging >No religion wars >No Aryan abbo
>>158798 how can inch create a large scale cultural impact? what are your thoughts anon?
>>158800 I don’t think it should. 4chan has created a large scale impact and none of it was for the better.

>>158800 It's simple. To have a large scale impact you need to produce things that reach the large scale, which Indiachan does not. >>158798 I had a huge ass post on typography but tor bugged out. lemme write it again
>>158800 >>158808 Okay. Good question. The problem is, what part of Inch are we talking about. What part of inch do you visit it for? the doxxing? the slop? baits? misogyny? casteism? The thing is that Indiachan will never really be any big right-wing thing (too much infighting) and nor will it ever truly be a niche underground creative culture (no creativity is happening) Indiachan capitalizes on an amazing format that is magical and genuinely good, it's an open room, but it has history and culture, its not reddit, and other social media sites are more like tv, you just get fed reels and posts, nothing connects you with people, indiachan is all about people and their thoughts and connection (or argument) This invites all sorts of creatures, the good are amazing, creatives, but the bad are the worst, it's open season at the downtown alley and it's a mix of everything.
>>158817 Inch can be good, it could create impact, it could create great media, games or cool shit even. But it won't. What you'd need is to gut the worst parts of it, which is 99% of it. The baiters, kangers, casteists, all of it would need to be cut out. Which would kill the website. To make a site that has an impact, you'd need an entirely new website, one that does not promote these things
>>158800 There are genuine anons here who thinks they can create a rival to twitter reddit in the form of forum culture. I think that came out wrong and condescending. Let me rephrase that. U guys are the best, not even fazed by seeing sheer enormity of the task ahead. Yet you dream that u will do just that. I have full faith that ur journey to create that digital space will die before reaching succession yet I'm attracted to ur cause. leaving this place will be tough for the near future but not impossible many ascended to prove otherwise. I want to be valuable for that journey yet my laziness and my procrastination defeats me to achieve anything else. But I hope my fellow anons can pull off something no one could. God bless.
>>158820 the biggest hurdle on inch being great is inch itself
>>158822 It would be hard, but a small user base can be managed, slowly.
we need more brainstorming anons who could give some productive ideas on how and what we can do
>>158824 >>158820 Im considering it, honestly I am. Of making a new website. Ofcourse sadly I'd never even mention it here. It'd be like inch, a forum, but different in that functionally the only difference would be who we promote it to, young creatives in India, writers, artists, general inquisitives and wholesome spirits. If that sounds like something that warrants you to immediately shit on the idea, then you might be part of the problem with inch. India has a real lack of social spaces, where you can meet new people, Delhi and Mumbai has this (idk about blr) but what about the rest of the country? Inch has a great premise, the premise is, anyone can post, say anything, and we have a history and a culture. That is an amazing idea, it's just that the "chan" suffix kills it instantly, as it attracts all the worst critters.
>>158822 if we do something exceptionally shocking we may get a news headline, dont worry im onto something, will take a months to realise tho
>>158820 What good impact has any imageboard created. Even a “good” imageboard doesn’t incentivise its users to contribute they have no real direct association or sense of community with the imageboard (the only community-esque imageboards likr sharty which produce OC content are for parasocial mentally ill individuals who think of the other anons as “friends”), nor do they have a sense of identity like forums or Reddit where users get recognition. A good imageboard should be place for discussion, not creation of OC content.
>>158826 i have faith. we can do stuff. eg IAC is one of the greatest thing inch niche has produced
>>158830 I am IAC! loved ur post on the site. Im da op of da thread
>>158832 i had a feeling. like i feel you and i mentally click
>>158829 The problem is that discussion based communities always turn to shit (reddit) People have a tendency to either argue or just be weird. I genuinely believe you need to house creatives, who are writing, producing things, creating things, stories, ideas or whatever. Discussion is like a buffet, you can only house so many eaters, until they start to shit in the trays
>>158834 >>158825 I've already thought about it. It'd have to be something related to the arts, ofcourse, it'll be advertised in drudgery, we can't depend on word-of-mouth, we'll have to take to the general internet. I hate that as much as anyone but its essential. It's not about the website, anyone can make a website but the aesthetics (not just visual aesthetic but placement of ideas) and the community. Essentially Inch is a community, thats what it is, its a community. And it's a horrible community, but it's a sufficient enough community, it's a real village here.
>>158834 >>158835 A good community online, can't really always meet each other, so the forms of enrichment, can only really be creation, it doesnt mean its only for creatives, even a good funny post is a form of creativity, it's made and brought something new into the world. I might actually do it, I'll unfortunately not advertise or connect it to inch in anyway, because If I put my real efforts into a community I want it to be a place where you dont need to be anon, I want a space where all the zoom-zooms can write fan-fics, make weird games or write stories. I want a community space, where people can talk about sports (sports as in, sport they play) they can meet people, they can make collaborative projects etc. It's a very fanstamatic idea, it'll probably not start up properly.
>>158841 Like our Mail club for example, we've decided to postpone the second run, because there's one anon who has been particularly adamant on doxxing threats. I want to actually do cool stuff, even for free, but I am limited by the toxic radiation and the problems that the toxicity of this site causes. You'll be doxxed and harassed and that adds more problems to any creative project you want to work on. I genuinely dont even want to do the Inch Mail thing for money (lol, 101 rs) it's really something for a community I thought I am a part of, but now im not sure entirely
>>158835 >And it's a horrible community, but it's a sufficient enough community, it's a real village here You’re so fucking delusional I love it. >>158834 I don’t know if I agree with that, I feel discussing and arguing with the right people is fun. If you could exclude the retards. >creatives Yes I think there do need to be creatives as in people who can synethesise something, an idea and concept while simultaneously discussing and debating it. Instead of the same 5 topics being regurgitated over and over again. >>158841 Ao3 wattpad and Roblox (for games) already exist. Good luck getting them to move to your platform, what do you offer that others won’t be able to.
>>158847 Fucked uo formatting mb
>>158847 😭 you are not ozymandias my brother in dharma
>>158846 No offense, but I saw that happening. I think you are too sheltered, you think a lot of these anons are being edgy or ironic. No they are not.
>>158847 Bigger sites are all eventually more individually focused. Inch is all connected, therefore it has a strong strong community sense. Reddit is the weird one here. Idk why its so bad but it is. What I'd offer is, a site that's open, thats not divided into categories, everyone is encouraged to interact with each other.
>>158854 Doxxing threats to us, because someone really really hates inch mail for some reason
>>158855 >strong strong community sense. 😂
>>158857 You can laugh at that because you think a community is only a good thing. There are awful communities that work because they are strongly knit. Inch is a strong community, its just a strong shit hole
I got a question why can't we build upon others aren't discord, Roblox ao3 just a platform. Is it necessary that we need to have the underlying platform for our goals?
>>158857 I think inch is different from most imageboards in the sense that anons are contrarian and have unique viewpoints. Western boards tend to mesh into some sort of collectivistic group beliefs, there is hardly any arguments to the same degrees which happens over here. 2 Anglo 4chan users are far more similar than 2 inch users, in every possible metric. Also it’s rather hard to tell individual anons apart, they seem to mesh into one hivemind.
>>158859 Think about it. Instagram closes you down to friends you know, or just risking dming people you dont know, it's very, very individual, it's like a tv box. Reddit is, it's own weird thing but we know it's tiring. Inch on the other hand, there's namefags (like you) there's users who are recognizable, theres a real history, real lingo, people we all know about, and ONE big place where everyone is talking, /b/. That's why it still survives, because the users who are in here, know they have somewhat of an interesting (stretching the word) place to come back to
>>158859 Even the awful communities that work are awful because all members agree on what to be awfull about. Here there is nothing of that kind.
>>158863 Platform helps with differentiation and shows seriousness. A new site (not a chan but a forum) that people come to, has to be a new site
>>158867 It's a community that fights itself to death, but it's a community nonetheless
>>158863 >>158868 A new site is important because site rules determine how the communities function. Indiachan is a chan, it therefore forms chan like behavior, its a format and it produces a result, discord groups are discord groups. But a new site, that changes the format can change the outcomes
>>158874 This stuff also has the potential for real money. A good community that isnt toxic, can be used as a proof of work, and can create a lot of important friendships. Can you imagine basically, an inch where no one wants to talk shit all day?
>>158865 >Reddit is, it's own weird thing but we know it's tiring. I never really thought about why Reddit is so shit. On paper the idea seems brilliant, but it turned out dogshit. Any idea why?
>>158875 >Can you imagine basically, an inch where no one wants to talk shit all day? No. What you’re making is not “an inch” in any sense of the word.
>>158877 Exactly, removes the bad part
>>158876 its only because of the mods, there is a darkweb version of reddit called dread, that is a lowkey helpful place
>>158879 Eh dread is very dead tho
>>158876 Maybe its the way subreddits work?
>>158879 Seriously? And there is no p? >darkweb Huh, for some reason I haven’t actually used the dark web, how is it like.
>>158883 it's actually just, normal, Im a part of the insider exchange forum, though i hardly use it now.
>>158886 I got my account handed me down by someone who was a part of it. It's an interesting place, I havent even logged in a year or two, hope I havent lost my password. Although a lot of the info is just trash and not worthy if ur in India.
>>158887 Apparently it (or a similar forum) got seized by the feds, just looked it up.
>>158880 kinda yea although you can find helpful old threads i usually stayed at nulled until they nuked it
>>158883 all the stories you hear are crap, the internet is just a means of communication, tor is harder to track down to real identities so illegal stuff is easier to mask here, you can find drugs, exploits, data breaches being sold like veggies
Gad im so sleepy

I miss India kind of
I am thinking of making an imageboard, where you need to write something just a piece of text about your interests and hobbies or some shit. It will be manually judged and you need to be approved to post. Also only logged in users can post while non logged have read only. The users can choose to show their username or not, so you still retain anonymity of an imaegboard while having better quality. Your thoughts on this? I will make it in the future, once i graduate and leave the country (freedom of speech).
>>158897 I like the idea, however like Nikhil im tired of anon, yk.
>>158897 if you have money i could get make and host one for you
>>158899 i would buy a vps to host in eastern europe or just a routing server that i connect to through tor in which case site would be hosted on my computer in a vm
>>158898 I think the next thing that I work on, will not be anon. I showed a, sort of a Don draper like figure here, (she works in a company) my work, and I accidentally had IAC radio open, she was so intrigued that I had to let her see, i had to explain what it was, and she kept digging so I had to explain what, indiachan is. She really loved the idea, and I was ashamed of it, but she said it's better than most portfolio work since its genuinely a real thing used by people. She wanted me to make something like the IAC site but for her, and she would pay me for it, or soemthing, not discussed more than this but, it was an eye openr
>>158898 I don’t think I’ve ever interacted with the guy. Just know snippets of him from other anons. >>158899 I have money but I don’t have money with me, I’m still in college. Also I don’t want the headache at this moment to be frank.
>>158902 She basically said whatever im saying here, that community work and community design are very important, and it's very profitable to work on this, should you be smart enough to not do it like me and associate it with indiachan
>>158903 sure, i was thinking of making a base of operations for onionchads of inch either way
>>158903 who is nikhil
>>158907 purnavid
>>158800 Bake Bollywood tollywood masala gossip threads. That's how reddit became a big deal in jaatland.
>>158903 It’s only profitable if you run it with adds. Or collect some data and then sell it to the Js. 4chan is running at a net loss, no company wants its brand associated with that shit.
>>158902 are you like a uiux designer or a webdev?
>>158907 Admin of an old iteration of inch.
>>158912 yea ive heard of puranvid, didnt know his real name, he was doxxed?
>>158911 No lol, not by a far shot, Im basically an all round "creative" as much as I hate that word.
>>158914 Web design is my weak point.
>>158914 this chud will be first to get automated
>>158916 You'd be surprised as to how much high end creative work gets you in terms of money.
>>158916 nah it is the juniors and codemonkeys who will get raped, high level systems design and architecture fellows will stay employed forever
>>158913 Yes, he has a website. Nikhilsd.com. Seems like a pretentious retard tbh and he’s also a pedo if I remember right.
>>158920 That website is an inspiration for IAC btw
>>158921 Lol
>>158919 Art has money, real money

>>158924 yea i mean all high level jobs that involve long term planning and design of any kind
>>158920 he has blocked onions
He blocked mobile viewing too.
>>158927 why do people even do this, if someone wanted to rape their website they would just use a zombie ahead of my exit node
>>158897 Also there is a certain ideology or a religion that I am in the process of synthesising. This will be one of the main things discussed there.
>>158930 He's a special case, you cant view the site in night time too
>>158932 according to the computer clock or a fixed internet timezone from ntp?
>>158931 It is kind of like “vedifm” but from the opposite side if you get what I mean.
>>158935 >>158935 Vedism, he uses a long s, which looks like an f
Atleast in the sense of what it wants to accomplish. I have only a surface level understanding of his constructed faith >>158936 Yea, I know I was mocking that.
>>158932 Works for me and it’s like 12:17 here
>>158935 what is vedism?
>>158937 But I legit love all of his choices >no phone (cuz people shit and use they phone) >not during night time (he used to have this rule maybe its revoked) >long S, and his own style of writing >also uses FRAKTUR sometimes for german
>>158940 I get the no phone rule. Rest is autism. If phone posters weren’t allowed to post, the qaulity of inch would 10x. T. Posting from a phone rn.
>>158941 it is autism but his site isnt for everyone, thats the point, its HIS site, and he gets to choose. And I visit his site atleast once a week, i deeply value and care for autists
>>158940 I think using a laptop psychologically makes you more likely to read longer posts? You don’t have to scroll as much. Also the general headspace it puts you in. You feel like writing well thought out crap.
>>158943 Just went to the site and apparently he’s living out of a truck 😂. Trve steppe nomad Saar.
>>158942 I am also an autist, im just more of an fine-arts autist, I overlap with him on language studies and history
>>158944 >>158945 isnt he in India
>>158946 I doubt it. No way this nigga is living in a truck in lundia.
>>158948 Let me read.
>>158949 It’s at the end of the most recent post of his.
>>158951 It doesnt make sense, he's in India right now
>>158953 His Canary hasnt stated him leaving India, he's then in India, or he's not mentioned he's back in the US, or idk whats going on
>>158954 One sec I’ll explicitly link it here

>>158965 I have no idea except I know its Bowden. I read a lot of these guys (Evola, Spengler) even though I can honestly say im left wing and agree with not much of their ideas
>>158967 I haven't read em, just know a few concepts from each, I think I like spenglers idea of treating macro-entities as biological organisms, with birth growth and death. It is a very neat and symetric picture, and it does make a lot of sense.
>>158967 Don't know too much about evola apart from the fact that he's larped to oblivion. What are his ideas and your take on em?

>>158967 Also, I love Jonathan bowden's artworks
>>158970 Evola? I never take his ideas seriously, I am not reading him currently so nothing spikes the mind, but I like Evola, his interpretation of history, the way he takes myths seriously. I recommend it as a read, but as a real opinion, his ideas are more like fiction, like lovecraft

Jonathan Bowden should have become a painter, this is some really high concept shit
>>158967 >>158969 Evola is a mystic and a third positionist, not a fascist, no one in the party liked him, everyone actually affiliated with the ideology was killed off, which left him as the only one writing books.

>>158983 I like this one more than the other 2 you posted earlier. What is it supposed to represent?
>>158981 yea, the interview, hes a retarded commie professor, >"fascism is unique in the sense that you could remove one feature and it would still be identifiable as fascism" translation: fascism is when my enemies are winning guy was absolutely brainwashed by allied and marxist propaganda... fascism is just socialism and actual idealism, nazism is racial socialism, neither are the same, he also believed franco, pinochet, salazar, horthy, ion antonescu to be fascist
>>158986 It's a myth that art is supposed to have meaning or set representation, even if the artists claims there is. Art that is beyond just pretty pictures by hand is essentially a play with visuals, it is what you see, I see a mess of colors, teal green, yellow, soem sort of a creature, it's messy but thats a vague word, it's explosive in a wild colorful sense inside the figures, the swirls and shapes, there's a figure, or something with fangs or horns or tusks going outside of a cage? or something else, there can be, movement in this picture. Clearly if you look at his work he's pointing out what is within something, the way there's this almost church glass like mosaic colors, wild inside the figures, and big blank flats that contrast it, thats why we know subject from background. It's meaning? Can't say for sure, I dont think there is meaning, if there is its political and what bowden took from evola and other writers, but purely from the painting, its messy amateur work done with amateur materials, but its something that despite a lack of skill is trying to break something, to do something, it's ugly and it knows its ugly, its got a purpose

>>158988 >It's a myth that art is supposed to have meaning or set representation, even if the artists claims there is. By this I mean, that theres a hidden "thing" inside art, that you can't get by just taking a look and feeling about, that's a riddle that's not visual art, visual art is about patterns and the picture, about the work, THEN what it says is communicated through only visuals, not as in that we can boil a picture down to let's say a set hard meaning. Whats the meaning of his monkey? Is bowden being a racist here? Why is the monkey a cyborg esque figure? why is it unfinished? why are the colors clashing? why is it so messy? It just is. But what we can infer is, from an OVER view of his work, the way he draws things, the way he choses colors is a choice not just to be bold but to be bold in his specific way, he's not saying something he's showing you something. I dont like the monkey, it's very good in terms of illustration, its cohesive and thats bad, artists who are making ugly things do this to change the way you interpret an image, most of the times art is just "Does the thing, look like the thing, but on paper?" "Wow you drew a face, and it looks like a face, thats so cool" >>158990 It's a drawing of some greek statue I think
>>158989 I like this because its fascism being vulnerable to be better. The figure is a greek statue, I cant identify which but its classical. Fascist art tries to be hard, bold, strong, that's okay but thats a propaganda poster, you can't communicate your deeper ideas with KILL KILL, yk. And these guys arent just fascists they're, different they're esoterics, it's a much more high idea than just power. The statue is strong but its beyond just strong, its anatomy is warped, the greek thin legs thicker calves, almost like a parody or something, but he's not making fun of the statue here, the colors inside aren't about power, fascism is interesting where in, everything in it is about other people, the others, and how it'd be soo good if they werent around, its entirely focused on its propaganda and surface level on other peoples lives, its own life is very bland, just strong and blonde or white or whatever, simple, "pure" but thats a fantasy, nothing pure exists, goodness exists yes, but ideas that are really out there, really something, are also weird, and this is like seeing into a real actual persons mind, and its ugly, this is not what you expect a fascist to make, but he made it, and it's beautiful, the colors bouncing against each other, this is a meditation on an idea that is rare, its entirely about something thats not hating on others, its about something powerful yes but not destructive, more inquisitive, strange, good, filling the objects from within.
