Before the whole slapping Sanjay Bhansali incident, there was reportedly supposed to be a Khilji–Padmini dream sequence, where Ranveer’s Khilji imagines himself romancing Deepika’s Padmavati, followed by a song.
Someone from the sets apparently leaked the script, and people found out what SLB had planned. The cynical take was that he wanted to cash in on the real-life Deepika–Ranveer relationship and turn it into a fantasy sequence in the film.
