Nothing changed since independence, we were one of the largest economy back then too. We were infact doing relatively better then, had dominance over multiple industries.
Agriculture or Green revolution being the only good thing that happened after independence.
There were few high class people interested in doing first world tier things, but that too stopped. Everything from Science to Architecture, we are heading backwards now.
