> kay so 2 weeks ago, i took a private bus from a stop nearby my house just for exploring around and i saw a girl from a reputed college in my city sit on the seat near the driver’s seat. And there weren’t any other seats available in the bus, so i sat next to her as well. then i saw the conductor coming up to us and taking a seat next to her. so she was in the centre of both of us.
anyways i didn’t think much about it, until i saw them being extremely friendly with each other and holding hands and slightly cuddling and stuff. she looked about 19-20 with a college ID around her neck as well. this guy looked well into his 30s. Then, i saw the guy take her phone, and go through her chats on insta and what not. so at this point, i figured yeah they might be together 😭
i remember thinking to myself like damn i’m also this girl’s age and i go to college in a different state but it’s so sad to see how in this day and age, this still happens. like i thought it’s a thing of the past or a thing that mostly happens in old movies lol.
after a point, the seats in the bus cleared up and i went and sat somewhere else and these two lovebirds shot a judgemental look at me (i mean i kinda deserved it, i was nosy😭😭. in my defense, i was genuinely concerned for the girl. at a point i even wanted to strike up a convo with her and tell her that it’s weird to be dating a guy well into his 30s as a college kid but i kept my silence).

My senior, who was in 8th then, was madly in love with a bus employee.
She threatened him to run away with her and do a register marriage (officeil nerathe notice idanam ennun onnum arinjittu alla, vayil vannath vilichu paranjath anu) in another district where his brother worked. He took her to the railway station and called his folks. They called the police and they were caught immediately. This was before POCSO. Also the girl's folks were really thankful to him though he was a groomer.
She was mocked - "Nee etho kiliye thattikkondu poyennu kettallo".
I met her recently. We are in our 30s. I asked her wtf was she thinking then. She said "Aaaaaaa, appol angane thonni". There was no other reason. She just felt like it. It is the same for most people. They just feel like that and execute it immediately, without thinking about the consequences.
> Bus conductors and cleaners were always the creepiest to me. I used to dislike them so much. I still remember one conductor who used to follow me both in the morning and evening while I was travelling to school on a private bus. Even now, I remember how uncomfortable and disgusted I felt.
What I find surprising is how some girls actually used to have crushes on them. I remember many of my seniors being interested in one particular guy who was a conductor on our private bus. I could never understand it, especially after my own experience.
