Have you watched/read Relife? The protagonist is a high empathy unc like you who becomes a NEET after a mental breakdown while working at a toxic company. He tries to get a job but they keep rejecting him because of his short work history. He's also paranoid about working in another toxic workplace (much like you are). He is then recruited by a laboratory to become a guinea pig for their experimental therapy that makes you a teenager again. After spending a year in high-school as a teenager, he overcomes his weaknesses and becomes a productive member of society.
The conflict resolution was always too convenient, but I enjoyed reading it.
